I’m just on a roll with posts today. I think all it took was getting over the inertia of finishing my 2008-in-review and Philippines/Korea posts.
One of my first projects for 2009 was to finally get around to putting together an updated portfolio site. Check out yupso.com to see my web and print design work. It’s all primarily JDate and Spark Networks stuff, but that is, after all, what I spent my four years post-college doing professionally.
What is “yupso”? “Yupso” is something my grandpa on my father’s side used to yell a lot – kind of his war cry I guess you could say. While I was in the Philippines, I went to visit one of my aunts, my grandpa’s daughter, who I don’t see that often. An uncle on my mother’s side brought me to her house and he referred to me as “grandson of Yupso.” I liked it, so I thought why not embrace it.
Urban Dictionary says “yupso” is the name of a tagger in Hawaii. I have no connection to that as far as I know. However, considering all the family I have in Hawaii it’s not unlikely that we’re cousins.
